Well yeah I kinda did that today. So here is to waiting till 8pm to find out if the girl I met as a speed dating event is a psycho or not. Kinda think she is though why did I agree to this in the first place.

I've been angry at work before, but never furious enough that I've hurled something across the room with the genuine intent to break it or the wall...
...until today.
Fortunately I failed at both, but having made sure to find everything that was going to piss me off about this particular thing, I rage-quit about 5pm. Hopefully I'll be able to go back early tomorrow with a clear head and attack the job a little more calmly.

It's 10am, Monday morning. So far Qantas has managed to loose my baggage, the taxi service has not input my booking into their system.... and because this is Gladstone and I know they're over stretched I actually waited a full hour before phoning up to see what was going on...
...I've now just caught myself trying to add "Monty Blacker" to a work email and wondering why the address book didn't bring her name up.
I think it's going to be one of those weeks.

Fucked up an entry into a house today... turned a solid gun possession by a felon case into barely-salvageable mush.

drive company vehicles for long enough and you will eventually see every conceivable failure you can imagine,I've had more flats/belts break than i can count ,had wheels fall off, suspension snap and gearboxes explode into shrapnel whilst driving along, last week one of my colleagues had his van repaired at the workshop,he parked it up to defrost and warm up,went back inside to get his mail came out to find the van on fire !Officer_Charon wrote:My patrol car's radiator decided to blow... whilst sitting still at my off-duty job, after being stationary for 2 and a half hours.

I am terrified of being given a company car. I'm working in the Alps, which means slick roads, blocked roads, hideous hairpins, locked brakes, frozen engines, rusted snow-chains, sick kids in the back, digging out buried cars, French police looking for easy fines if you're missing your statutaory breathalyser... and collisions with every other vehicle also trying to wrestle with these problems. With a 500-euro excess.
I'm quite happy with my rail-pass, thanks!

How was my day..... well it was a pretty good day until the students club period when I was on duty in the library. Some #%$#%#$@~ decided it would be a good idea to put dry ice in a water bottle and leave it in the bathroom. The #$#%$#@ thing exploded in my face when I tried to get rid of it. So my day was just freaking great.... Well at least my hands aren't tingling anymore....

i forgot to post this yesterday, and some of you may knew this from the chat;
It was on November 22nd 2013, when i was watching a movie, after getting up from a long sleep, when i looked into my watch, it was 12:30p.m. 5 minutes later, the needle of the watch didn't move at all. Fearing i'll be screwed by my own mother for breaking my watch, i decide to hide it temporarily; but out of the blue, the clock worked again. And then i watched a Documentary in History Channel about JFK assassination.
Out of Curiosity, i googled the exact time my watch stopped working briefly and come up with staggering find; the time my watch stopped itself is the exact time of JFK assassination took place. And i'll be damned... i was so scared, i decide to play WOT for a while to forget it; which works, until this night

So, had some friends over last night to hang out and play video games. Then had a 2 hour cross country practice in old shoes (a very bad experience btw), which forced me to run barefoot for most of the run because it hurt less. Note: we run on local country roads, some are gravel.
So I'm getting new shoes tomorrow
My recruiter is also showing up to my practice....
I'm not so sure how I feel about the latter, but we'll see how that goes...

Sorry to hear about your shoes and good luck with the recruiter. In other news today was another day full of meetings, fairly standard stuff to cover before the year starts. I did get to see my classroom and its pretty good, not to mention I have a separate room for a lab and a huge prep room. Now its time for a run around ulaanbaatar.

So, one quirk of the BMW is that you can open the boot without opening the rest of the car. Since buying it I have been wondering how long it would take me to lock the keys in there... apparently the answer is "just under three years".
Word to the wise: if you own a modern, particularly European, car, don't lock yourself out of it. The things are almost impossible to open otherwise, and I wound up having to make the two hour return trip from site to home in order to retrieve the spare (after swinging past the real estate agent... because my apartment keys were locked in the boot as well).
On the plus side, I can now tell you that even the base-model Hilux is pretty decent on the highway.

Honestly, I think one of those keyless systems would drive me insane. I would be forever wondering if the car had locked itself and, of course, when I went back to check, it would unlock itself again.

Oooh... sucks to hear that, Alfi. Though, at least you had a spare, which is good. The car I'm currently driving (Ford Focus) while waiting for my truck (Ford Ranger (yes, I know...)) to be repaired only has a single key, and at some point during the chaos of the end of March the spare went missing. Thus, I'm paranoid about making sure I have the key on me before locking and closing any doors.

I admit I really liked the Ford keypad system on my '90 Thunderbird.Alfisti wrote:Honestly, I think one of those keyless systems would drive me insane.
I would just toss my keys under the driver side floor mat and lock them inside. As long as the battery doesn't go flat you're fine.
My current van doesn't have such a luxury, so I just keep a secret key taped somewhere on the vehicle in case of a lockout. Unfortunately I had to screw up once, 900 miles away from home, before I started doing that.

Thing is, I'm usually very paranoid about the whole thing as well: I always make sure to keep the habit of pocketing the key before doing anything in the BMW's boot. This time however I was in a hurry and... yeah.PSVT wrote:The car I'm currently driving (Ford Focus) while waiting for my truck (Ford Ranger (yes, I know...)) to be repaired only has a single key, and at some point during the chaos of the end of March the spare went missing. The Alfa only has one set of keys as well, but fortunately the boot can't be locked without them. The doors I always make sure to lock with the key as well though, to be fair, getting into the Alfa without a key isn't exactly challenging. It's five minutes work with a coat hanger. The best anti-theft strategy for that car is to pop the bonnet and take the high-tension lead with you.

Locked myself out of my car at a restaurant two days ago. Fortunately, I wasn't far from home, and just phoned my wife to bring the spare. Not like that time I was 60 miles from home and locked myself out of my Mustang ... with the engine running. Watching the temp gauge climb towards the red through the window and hoping I ran out of gas first...

I can't figure out if being locked outside an APC is worse than being locked inside an APC. Maybe it depends on who's shooting you, and with what.
To answer the original question... busy. I'm packing stuff up and/or placing it aside so that I can cart my furniture down from my third-floor apartment. At the same time, I'm trying to repair the hard disk in my laptop, which decided to have problems right when I will need it the most.

It went something like this I mapped out my bio 12 course for 5 3 week units since the semester is 18 weeks. um yeah I can't do math so I now have to fill a missing 3 weeks. At least it's easily done as now I don't have to rush the nervous system. Hell I could do an entire 18 weeks on it.

I feel like a nitwit for not getting a pic of us together, Kisk. I thought of it when I was pulling into my driveway Sunday evening.

Okay. Finally able to watch those videos and dear lord spectators are close. Yes, it makes for a good show, but....*shivers* things can go wrong very easily, the gunpowder is a bit unstable and the rifles not all that reliable. One misstep and...yeah. The Union and Rebs got way too close on one of the vids, If you're forced to elevate that high and you're that close, one side needs to back up. Union in this case.
Understandably, there are two things that govern how a reenactment plays out: Spectation/planned event and safety. While it wasn't extremely dangerous... sheesh. Has been different at the ones I've been too. :/
Last time I saw Rebs and Union get that close I got a concussion when the Rebels charged us. Safety is number 1, and while nothing super bad was happening...I would have been nervous as a Union soldier when those rebs pushed up so far...
Good battle though, would have been fun to be a part of.
Edit: Lines aren't supposed to charge each other, I could (and would) call safety and stick my hat in the air on the butt of my rifle...Reenactment stops dead in its tracks then. Reenacting is more dangerous than it looks honestly...I mean its not like you're diffusing a bomb, but this stuff tends to be volatile.

Folks were originally closer, but they asked people to step back and give them some more manuvering room.

Personally would prefer more room. I've had some...negative experiences.Kiskaloo wrote:PolosElite23 wrote:Okay. Finally able to watch those videos and dear lord spectators are close. getting clonked on the head by a 9 pound rifle and having a squad sized group fall on you really sucks, plus they almost hurt bystanders so...yeah....

Re: How was your day today?
I should have gotten off of work today early in the morning.
I should be throwing a duffel into the back of my pick-up truck and be on my way to Las Vegas.
Instead...I am on hold to cancel my reservation while I sit here with my time off revoked due to dumb-assed people doing dumb-assed 5h1t and thus leaving the warehouse short-staffed and revoking my time off.
Luckily, it seems that I'll be able to sell my tickets though at a decent hit. -sigh- There's always next year...I hope.

Well, if I turn out to be (or be called) a walking fountain of luck (or a walking luck magnet), then I may as well call you crazy.
2 of my classes today were cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances (hint: not Spanish, which is good); add that to a good session of watching anime at my college's anime club, and not freezing out when I got back home...would you call that good luck or something like bad luck?
Not sure how to explain it.

Re: How was your day today?
Lots and lots of raking and sweeping to gather up the fallen leaves from the front yard before getting fined on deed restrictions. It took way too long. But, the fact that I saw the inspector drive by multiple times means they have to know it's all done.

Day three of not having home internet service and being forced to use my phone and Sprint's brilliant 4g wireless. (That last bit is sarcasm, btw.)

Too bad it wasn't with a cute girl, or you could have made an anime episode out of it.
