TV Times
After the utter brilliance that was Winter Wipeout, I have to say that I've not been very impressed with the quality of obstacles on Spring Wipeout.
That is until last night's episode. The Gladiator course for the third round was totally epic. The flying shields, rocks and stuffed lions laid complete and total waste to the contestants trying to get through the round. They need to keep this theme going forward, because it was brilliant.

Ugly Betty was fantastic.
Have to say that CSI (Vegas) has really gotten good in the past few years. I guess they have new writers.

Triela I have to agree with you Law and Order SVU is pretty darn good. I like it because if you wait long enough one of the cops will beat the crap out of some one eventually. A guilty pleasure of mine is Pawn Stars on the history channel and top shot.

Re: TV Times
I used to love the original Law & Order, but stopped watching when Dennis Farina left.
I watched the first season of SVU, but found the stories so depressing I did not come back for the next season.
I considered giving Law & Order: UK a shot, since BBC America is carrying it, but never did.
Some good documentaries this week. NOVA did a special last night on the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and earlier this week Four Corners on ABC (Australia) did a special on QF32, the Qantas Airbus A380 that suffered an uncontained failure of the #2 Trent 900 engine shortly after leaving SIN for SYD.

Re: TV Times
With very few exceptions (hated, HATED the episodes featuring Christine Lahti's Sonya Paxton), Law and Order: SVU is an amazing show. The quadrifecta of Eliot, Olivia, Fin and Munch is my favorite investigative team of all time. Tri, I can hook you up with some great episodes if you're interested. Just PM me.
Law and Order: UK is no less solid a title; one that people really need to give a chance. Ronnie Brooks is one of the most deceptively disarming cops you'll ever meet - he'll charm you and make you feel at ease, but coax every last scrap of information out of you on the sly. And James Steel is by far the best prosecutor in the Law and Order franchise. His earnesty and will to win are truly an example.
The ultimate in police procedurals, however, has to be Cold Case. The victims of crime are treated with incredible empathy by that show, each episode never failing to showcase its featured victim as a person with faults, virtues, hopes and dreams, and thoroughly exploring what impact their loss had on their loved ones. Every installment is practically a fascinating human interest story in itself. I can unashamedly say that many an episode left me in tears - it's not everyday a TV program can do this. Also, the show's usage of flashbacks needs to be seen to be believed; the astounding resemblance between past and present versions of characters is nothing short of amazing. Top it off with a great soundtrack, and you have an absolute winner. It's a shame the series is no longer running.

Re: TV Times
Yes, SyFy cancelled SGU and Caprica at the same time last year and immediately pulled both from the broadcast schedule so they could run the final set of episodes in a set over a number of weeks in 2011.
I agree that SGU kind of started slow, but then it built. I still like Atlantis best, but Atlantis started to drag at the end to the point I was kind glad they ended it. I didn't start following SG1 until Ben Browder and Claudia Black arrived.
I tried Sanctuary, but it never really clicked with me.

This is how CSI does their forensic search
this is how the police in the UK do it
so can anyone spot the difference ? and which one is more likely to get a conviction thrown out due to a contaminated crime scene ?

Re: TV Times
not very often, as shown above all officers entering a crime scene must do their best not to disturb it or contaminate it ,in fact apart from the first response officer assesing the situation, the scene is sealed until the forensic unit arrives, though obviously that changes if the victims still alive as saving them is more important than preserving the scene

Here, it depends on the type of scene. Our Forensics guys don't go near a scene without gloves (duh.) For "highly organic" scenes they will go full-suit. Most line officers don't want to be anywhere near a crime scene, because as soon as your name goes on a log, you're subpoenable.

Officer_Charon would have enjoyed last night's Car Warriors on SPEED. The vehicles were 2000 Crown Victorias - one with a 450hp 347ci Edelbrock V8 and the other with a 400hp 302ci V8. The goal was to turn them into the ultimate cop cars.
And South Park hits one out of the park (pun) again.
What amazes me is how quickly they can modify their production to note current events.

- Spoiler:
Sure, Human Centipede has been around for like a year, and it's kinda surprising it took them this long to come up with a parody, but the "LocationGate" thing with iOS and Android literally hit within the past seven days.
We've seen it with Elio Gonzalez, as well. He was recovered by the FBI a handful of days before airtime, and they still were able to animate it and add it in with the episode with the Cirque de Solei / Romanians episode.

If anything, the latest South Park episode was worse than the previous one.
The best South Park installments aren't the ones that comment on current issues or mock celebrities, but the ones that focus on life in South Park and the kids 'just being kids'. See 'Butters' Bottom Bitch', 'The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers', 'Good Times with Weapons' and 'Make Love, Not Warcraft'. Trey and Matt better get themselves squared away quick and bring the old magic back.
